Saburtalo is one of Tbilisi's largest and most lively districts, northwest of the center. Most of it was built in the second half of the 20th century, and today rows of Soviet-era blocks stand next to many of the city's newest residential complexes.
The district is home to the Georgian Technical University and the Tbilisi State Medical University, so its streets are full of students, cafes and shops. Vazha-Pshavela, Kazbegi and Pekini avenues carry most of the traffic, and the second metro line runs through the district. Lisi Lake, a favorite place for walks and summer swims, is a short drive away.
Saburtalo suits young families, students and investors looking for rental income. New buildings with modern layouts and parking sit close to schools, supermarkets and the metro.
