Gldani, in the north of Tbilisi, is one of the city's largest residential districts. Most of it was built in the 1970s and 1980s as planned microdistricts of apartment blocks, schools and green courtyards, and the nearby Tbilisi Sea is a favorite place for summer walks and swims.
The northern end of the first metro line serves the district, and markets and shopping centers keep everything close to home. Many older blocks have been renovated, and new residential complexes keep appearing.
Gldani suits families and first-time buyers who want the most space for their money, and investors who rent long term to students and workers. Prices per square meter here are among the lowest in the capital.
